Time is going so quickly! How is it almost November?!
This week I finally started back in the gym. One of my goals for the year is to get my body back, so this is obviously the first step to getting there. The gym I go to is actually so lush for the price and the guy on reception is low key peng (oi oi). Speaking of booyyyysssss, I downloaded Bumble. They say you shouldn’t do the same thing over and over if it’s not working, so I figure the whole natural way of meeting people hasn’t worked for the past 21 years so why not try a dating app.
On Saturday I took myself on a little wander of Madrid. I walked up Gran Vía, (stopped in a Starbucks to get my first Chai Latte in months), to see el Templo de Debod. I’m not going to lie, it’s a little underwhelming. It’s literally just some random Egyptian ruins in the middle of Madrid. There’s no plaques to tell you why it’s there or the history behind it. The view of the sunset was beaut though, and I think the park would be really nice during the day. Beware though, it’s couple central.
On Sunday a few friends and I went to the Parque de Atracciones. I haven’t been to a theme park since primary school so I was psyched to go. It definitely didn’t disappoint. There are fewer rides than I remember being in Thorpe Park, but it was still so much fun and really good to do something other than eating and drinking.
One thing that is really beginning to annoy me though, is what seems to be my lack of progress with my Spanish. I honestly think it’s being exacerbated by the fact that whenever I try and speak Spanish to someone, they can hear my accent, and then start speaking to me in English. LIKE NO, I’M TRYING TO LEARN HERE PLEASE!
Okay, I really have nothing to say this week. It’s that time of the month so I just want to curl up and wallow in sadness. It’s been super chilly this week. I failed that archeology exam (lol, not surprised, nor upset). This is the longest I’ve been away from home, so have had a few pangs of homesickness this week too.
Let’s see what this week holds.
