The Perfect Villa: Binibeca, Menorca

I’m a hotel girl. I love being picked up after, sheets and towels being changed, breakfast spread already made – it’s the princess treatment for me. Having said that, for my birthday holiday to Menorca, I knew I wanted us all to be in one place, eating together, chilling together and you can’t get that when everyone’s in separate hotel rooms, so I decided to head to Airbnb.

Originally, I wanted to stay in the south of the island, closer to the big boy beaches like Son Bou and Cala en Porter, but I was struggling to find something that fit all my requirements, (lots of outdoor space, 3 bathrooms and a nice kitchen), within budget. Eventually, this villa was sent into the chat. I was a little apprehensive at first as it didn’t have any reviews, but when I properly looked at the listing, I jumped at the chance to book it.

The villa is in Binibeca in Sant Lluís. Binibeca is the area where a lot of people have their holiday homes, so it’s fairly quiet as they’re not all occupied, but there’s still enough by way of amenities nearby. Binibeca Beach is a 15min walk from this villa with a little shop on the way which had everything we needed in it. It’s about a 25min drive to Mahón and the beaches I mentioned before are about a 30min drive. I’d recommend renting a car for your stay and this villa has a parking space which I reckon could fit 2 small cars.

The property is absolutely STUNNING! There is so much outside space, you can sit at a different table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The sun loungers are comfy and the pool is the perfect size for frolicking, with an outside shower to rinse off. The thing that had me though was the terrace. Facing the west, and over looking the sea, it’s an idyllic spot to watch the sunset with the sky dipping behind the horizon. It’s also a great space for a morning tea or pilates practice.

The inside of the villa is equally as insane as the outside with the most well equipped kitchen I have ever seen: genuinely, this villa has a better stocked kitchen than my own at home! There’s a utility room complete with washer, dryer, hoover and cleaning supplies. The living & dining room area is roomy, open and light which came in handy when the rain showers tried to spoil our fun.

The bedrooms, of which there are 4, are all a good size with 3 lush bathrooms to match. The master has an ensuite and doors that open out onto the pool area.

The host, Greg, and his parents are lovely. They created a little guidebook with tips for what to pack and recommendations which they sent over prior and had printed out for when we arrived. They had thought about every detail, leaving us with a speaker, playing cards and even a big bottle of water to get us started. (You can drink the tap water but it tastes weird).

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this villa, nor the experience we had with the host. Everything was straight 10 10 10s across the board and I would 1000% stay there again.
