Exploring: Paris, France

Honestly, shout out to modern aviation because I woke up in London, visited the Palace of Versailles, ambled down the Champs-Élysées, watched the sun set over the Arc de Triomphe and went to sleep in my own bed back in the UK.

Back in October, (yes I am still catching up with everything 2025, bare with), I did a day trip to Paris with my Mum. We visited the Palace of Versailles which my history nerd Mum was buzzing about. After visiting, I totally understand why the French rose up and got rid of their monarchy because that yard is truly taking the piss. The gardens alone need a day for exploration let alone the palace itself and the adjoining wings. Most of our day was spent at Versailles as it’s a little outside of the city centre and, as mentioned, it is just so huge. We did get to have a little walk down the Champs-Élysées on our way home. I hate to be cliché but France is just… so chic. It has this elegant, regal air to it that I don’t feel like you find in other European cities, (which is ironic considering what I just said about them doing away with their royal family).

Another thing about Paris is their tube system is so easy to navigate but, my gosh, did I see some the absolute scenes on those platforms. I’m talking fisticuffs and everything.

Anyways, it was a lovely day trip but I definitely need to spend some more time there. I feel like going to shake a leg in Paris would be 10/10.
